In major rejig, 15 districts get new police chiefs in Punjab

The Punjab Government on Friday transferred/reshuffled the duties of 28 police officers including 24 IPS officers. After this rejig, 15 police districts in the state have got new police chiefs. There are 25 police districts in Punjab.

The government also posted 2004-batch IPS officer Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, who was awaiting posting after he was replaced as Amritsar police commissioner in the first week of June, as Inspector General (Provisioning).

Rakesh Kaushal, a 2009-batch IPS officer who was Border Range DIG, and Naveen Singla, also a 2009-batch IPS officer who was DIG Intelligence, have been transferred as DIG (Crime) and DIG Jalandhar Range, respectively.

2010-batch IPS officer Satinder Singh, who was Amritsar Rural SSP, will look after the work of DIG Border Range, Amritsar. 2013-batch IPS officer Charanjit Singh, who was AIG (Intelligence III) at Mohali, has been posted as the new SSP of Amritsar Rural.

2010-batch IPS officer Ashwani Kapur, who was Tarn Taran SSP, will look after the work of DIG Faridkot Range. 2014-batch IPS officer Gaurav Toora, who was Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Provisioning, is the new Tarn Taran SSP.

2014-batch IPS officer Deepak Parik, who was Bathinda SSP, has been posted as Mohali SSP, replacing 2012-batch IPS officer Sandeep Kumar Garg who has been posted as AIG (Intelligence III), Mohali. 2012-batch IPS officer Amneet Kondal, who was Khanna SSP, is the new SSP of Bathinda.

Batala Senior Superintendent of Police Ashwini Gotyal, a 2016-batch IPS officer who also has the charge of AIG Human Resource Development (HRD), Punjab, has been posted as Khanna SSP.

2011-batch IPS officer Nanak Singh, who was Mansa SSP, has been posted as Patiala SSP, replacing 2014-batch IPS officer Varun Sharma.

Sharma has been posted as AIG Provisioning, and in addition SSP Sadak Surakhya Force. Gagan Ajit Singh, a Provincial Police Service officer who was Sadak Surakhya Force SSP, has been posted as Malerkotla SSP, replacing 2016-batch IPS officer Simrat Kaur.

Kaur gets a new posting as AIG, Counter Intelligence, Patiala.

2016-batch IPS officer Ankur Gupta, who was Jalandhar Rural SSP, has been transferred as Moga SSP, replacing 2011-batch IPS officer Vivek Sheel Soni who has been posted as AIG Personnel-I at police headquarters in Chandigarh.

Bhagirath Singh Meena, a 2013-batch IPS officer who was Muktsar SSP, is the new SSP of Mansa. 2018-batch IPS officer Tushar Gupta, who was SP (Headquarters) Mohali, is the new Muktsar SSP.

2017-batch IPS officer Pragya Jain, who was Fazilka SSP, has been posted as Faridkot SSP, replacing 2010-batch IPS officer Harjeet Singh.

Singh, who also had the charge of AIG Armament, Punjab, Chandigarh, will look after the work of DIG Vigilance Bureau. Varinder Singh Brar, a PPS officer who was AIG (NRI), Ludhiana gets a new posting as Fazilka SSP.

2017-batch IPS officer Suhail Qasim Mir, who was Pathankot SSP, has been posted as Batala SSP in place of Gotyal. Daljinder Singh Dhillon, a PPS officer who was posted as AIG, Crime Investigation Department (CID), Jalandhar, gets posting as the new SSP of Pathankot.

Another PPS officer Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, who was AIG (Anti Gangster Task Force), Jalandhar, has been posted as Jalandhar Rural SSP.

2010-batch IPS officer Harmanbir Singh Gill, who was looking after the work of DIG Jalandhar Range, has been posted to look after the work of Joint Director, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur.

2011-batch IPS officer Gurmeet Singh Chauhan, who was available for posting, has been posted as AIG (Anti Gangster Task Force), Punjab, Mohali.

2020-batch IPS officer Darpan Ahluwalia, who was Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police – I, Amritsar, has been posted as staff officer to Punjab DGP.
