Travel to Mahakumbh from Chandigarh by bus, pay Rs 1,662
The inaugural service on the Chandigarh-Prayagraj route was flagged off on Thursday

Chandigarh residents planning to visit the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj can now also travel by bus. The Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) Thursday flagged off the inaugural service on the route from Counter Number 27 at ISBT Sector-17.
“Now, Mahakumbh Mela, an iconic spiritual fair in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh is underway and will last up to February 26, 2025. It holds the distinction of being the world’s largest religious event… and millions of devotees will visit Prayagraj in search of spiritual liberation. So, to facilitate the devotees of Chandigarh city and its nearby areas, CTU has started a bus service,” Pradyuman Singh, Director, CTU, said.
A one-way trip will cover 919 kilometres and take 19 hours and 25 minutes to complete. The bus will start from ISBT Sector-17, Chandigarh at 12 noon every day and reach Nehru Park in Prayagraj the next day at 7.25 am.
Meanwhile, the return trip will start from Prayagraj at 5 pm every day and reach Chandigarh the next day at 12.25 pm. The one-way fare per passenger is Rs 1,662.
“To facilitate the… online booking of seats till 25.02.2025 for said bus service is available on https://ctuonline.chd.gov.in, https://chdctu.gov.in, http://www.redbus.in/ and CTU Musafir Mobile App,” Singh said.
The CTU provides bus rides to various destinations in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from the Union Territory.
