Although rain water has receded from all localities and office premises in the twin cities, the Kingfisher Tourist Complex and a few colonies behind the Banarsi Dass Flour mill continue to be under 3-5 feet deep water. Efforts of de-watering Kingfisher have proved futile as the water level didn’t come down despite using pumping sets as surplus drains into the low-lying complex. The Managing Director of Tourism Department visited the complex and is learnt that the Army help has been sought.

Meanwhile,Deputy Commissioner S P Sarao said the plugging of 17 breaches in Tangri river and the SYL canal would be undertaken on Sunday. He said 14 medical camps would be organised tomorrow to cover the areas affected by floods.‘
