So if 65 per cent of the respondents preferred to be casual,only 22 per cent opted for a studious look. “The glamourous look was least voted for,unless it was to attract the attention of the opposite sex,” says Sunil Gadgil,general manager,marketing (vision care),Bausch + Lomb. “Even though it is normally believed that females aspire for a glamourous partner,the survey revealed that males almost equally preferred glamourous partners,” adds Gadgil. Coloured contact lenses are also considered to be an indicator of a glamourous look. “Here too,it was found that men like to make a style statement with lenses,” says Gadgil.

The course also determines the kind of people students want to date. “For instance,majority of the science students prefer to date a studious looking partner. Arts students prefer a casual looking partner and commerce students want a glamourous partner,” says Sen,adding that the spectacles give a studious look. “Spectacles on campus do not match with the idea of being cool”. Moreover,glamourous looks also help avoid ragging. “All students feel that a studious looking youngster is more prone to being ragged,while a glamourous looking person has least chance of being ragged,” says Sen. When it comes to making friends,however,the casual look gets an upper hand. So which look is for you?
