KV student commits suicide

A 16-year-old student of Kendriya Vidyalaya number 2,3BRD Air Force Station,Chandigarh,allegedly committed suicide by jumping before the New Delhi-bound Jan Shatabdi Express near Mohali on Monday morning.

A 16-year-old student of Kendriya Vidyalaya number 2,3BRD Air Force Station,Chandigarh,allegedly committed suicide by jumping before the New Delhi-bound Jan Shatabdi Express near Mohali on Monday morning. Siddhant Sharma,the only son of Wing Commander Sushil Sharma,was a student of Class XI.

Around 8:30 am,the GRP was alerted by the Chandigarh Station Superintendent,who had been intimated by the train driver. On reaching the spot,we found pieces of the teenagers body spread within a few hundred metres of the spot, said GRP Investigating Officer (IO) Assistant Sub-Inspector Urmila Devi.

The incident occurred around five kilometers away from the Chandigarh railway station. The GRP claimed that even as the body was beyond recognition,Siddhants identity was ascertained from the school diary in his bag,which bore the address KV number 2,3 BRD.

Even as the GRP suspects the teenager committed suicide,his body was handed over to his parents in the evening after postmortem. In deep shock,Siddhants mother was reportedly unconsciousness till evening while his father was also not in a condition to speak.

And while the parents have not registered any case,the IO said that they have started inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC.
