Karambir of GMS-43 knocked down Arshpreet of SD School,Sector 32,in the Boys U-14 semifinal (30 kg category) to emerge champion in the ongoing UT Inter-School Boxing Tournament being held in Chandiagrh. He will meet Danvir of GMHS-36 who outclassed Sanjay GMSS-Karsan. In the 32 Kg semifinals,Vipin Kumar of GMSS-23 overpowered Kushal Thakur of GNK-30 and booked his place in the final along with Rahul of SDS-32 who beat Jatin of SNS-22. Meanwhile,in the 34 Kg semifinal bouts,Akashdeep of SNS-32 defeated Ankit of GHS-11 while Gurneet of SD-32 got the better off Navdeep Sharda-40. Varun of SD-32 punched out Kashif Khan of DAV-8 in the 70 Kg category to reach the final.Sanjay of Sharda-40 pipped Shubham of GSSS-15. In the girls kick-boxing U-19 event held at Sports Complex Sector 42,in the below -54 kg section,Priyanka (GMSSS-18) bagged top spot,Poonam Patel (GMSSS-MHC) was second,while Shubdeep (Ryan-49) finished third. In the -57 Kg category,Sangeeta Kumari (GMSSS-18) cornered glory and grabbed first position while Karitika (RYAN-49) and Poonam (GMSSS-8) finished second and third respectively. Meanwhile in the Sqay Martial Art U-17 girls event,Sarita (GGSSS-20) won the first position in the below -40 Kg weight category leaving behind Prachi Gupta (GMSSS-20) and Vani (GMSSS-18) at second and third spots respectively.
