Jewellery stolen from car at petrol pump

A bag containing jewellery and precious stones worth lakh of rupees was stolen from a car at a petrol filling station after the couple,who were riding the car,were tricked by a stranger. The incident took place at Daon village on busy Mohali-Kharar National Highway-21.

The car owner,Gurdeep Singh,told the police that as he was waiting to get the air pressure of car tyres checked,an unknown person approached him and told him that oil was leaking from his car’s engine.

“As I got out of the car and started checking for the oil leakage,my wife also came out of the car and stood along with me but before we could turn back after finding no leakage,we were shocked to see our bag containing gold jewellery and other valuables stolen,” Singh said. The police have started to investigate the matter.
