A Scintillating century from JaskaranbirSingh (118) helped Chandigarh defeat Ropar on the first innings lead basis in the Punjab State Inter District Under-19 for Dhruv Pandove Trophy held at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on Friday. Resuming from their overnight score of 22 for no loss,Jaskaranbir and Manan Vonhra gave a solid start to the team before Vohra was out for 35. However,Jaskaranbir continued in similar fashion and flayed the opposition attack to complete his century. His innings included 17 boundaries and one towering six. Naveen Dhiman was another batsman who maintained his authority over the bowlers during his innings of 65 runs.
Rahul seals win for Amritsar
A FINE bowling spell from Rahul Kanojia (4 for 75) helped Amritsar win on the basis of first innings lead in another match. Replying to Amritsar’s 300,Mohali were all out for 246 runs in 80.1 overs. Sachin Sohal top scored with 79 runs while Prateek Deshpal contributed 46 runs. Ashwani Kumar kept the things tight from the other end and picked up three wickets.

Khera’s ton in vain
GITANSH Khera’s century (127) went in vain as Ludhiana lost to Jalandhar on the basis of first innings lead in another match of the day. Batting second,in reply to Jalandhar’s huge total,Ludhiana team was bundled out for 264 runs in 81 overs. Only Gitansh and Harjit Singh (48) displayed some resistance. Yogesh Kumar broke the back-bone of Ludhiana’s batting line up with his incisive bowling as he ended up with five wickets. Rahul Singh claimed three wickets.
