Jalandhar woman first Indian to win Miss Grand International

Rachel is the first Indian in MGI history to win the Golden crown.

Rachel Gupta, 20, from Jalandhar was crowned Miss Grand International (MGI) 2024 on Friday in Bangkok, Thailand, where the final was being held.

Rachel is the first Indian in MGI history to win the Golden crown. Rachel, who previously held the Miss Super Talent of the World 2022 title, won Miss Grand India in August 2024 at Zee Studios, Jaipur, and represented India at Miss Grand International, a crown India has never won before.

Miss Grand International is said to be currently the number one Beauty Pageant in the world with over 5 Million followers across the globe.

Minhas, her uncle, said, “This is the first time in MGI’s history that an Indian won the golden crown and it’s a super proud moment for Jalandhar, Punjab and India. Her performance was exceptional and she maintained the top position throughout. She was also awarded the Grand Pageants Choice Award 2024. Rachel now holds the record for the most number of global pageant crown wins by an Indian and is currently tied with former Miss Universe Lara Dutta.”

Rachel, who has over a million followers on Instagram, will now represent MGI as their ambassador for peace & stability.
