Jalandhar police foil target killing plot orchestrated by Lawrence Bishnoi gang: Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that their preliminary investigation suggested the arrested man was acting on the directions of Dubai-based Namit Sharma, a close aide of Lawrence Bishnoi.

The Counter-Intelligence Unit of the police in Punjab’s Jalandhar Tuesday claimed to have foiled a major target killing plot hatched by the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, and arrested a key operative, Himanshu Sood, a resident of Phagwara in the state’s Kapurthala district.
According to the police, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered at the Special Operation Cell Police Station in Amritsar, and further investigation is underway to identify other associates and establish linkages.
Gaurav Yadav, Director General of Police, Punjab, said that their preliminary investigation suggested the Sood was acting on the directions of Dubai-based Namit Sharma, a close aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
“Recently, Himanshu Sood alongwith his other gang members fired gunshots at a hotelier in #Haridwar on the directions of Namit Sharma and was further tasked to eliminate other 2 targets in Madhya Pradesh and Kapurthala respectively,” Yadav posted on X.
“Backed by human intelligence and technical inputs, the team successfully dismantled this targeted killing module, averting a serious threat to public safety. His arrest marks another significant step in the ongoing crackdown on gangster networks with international linkages,” added DGP Yadav.
The Punjab DGP said two pistols, including a 30 bore PX3 pistol with four live cartridges, and a .32 Pistol with three live cartridges, were recovered from the arrested gang member.
