As the first deadline of applying for the academic year of 2013-14 at the Indian School of Business (ISB) approaches on September 15,the school is holding another info session at its Mohali campus on Sunday,August 26. This will be the last info session before the first deadline for applications - September 15,with the next info session happening at Mohali on October 28. The ISB rolled out the admissions for the Class of 2014 for its flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management in June. Annual IT Fiesta at MCM DAV College for Women Department of Computer Science and Application of MCM DAV College for women,organised the annual IT Fiesta on Thursday. A collage making competition and poster making competitions were organised on IT related topics,where Kunika Piplani of BSc first-year bagged the first prize and Renu of B.Sc-I and Navneet Rani of BSc-I got first and second positions in the respective competitions. Students also made presentations on topics like mobile technology,cloud computing and android operating system wherein Neha B.Sc-II and Aanchal Raizada B.Sc-III got first and second prizes respectively. A forum to discuss cyber terrorism was organised. The students had also prepared models like functional clocks,lamps and office desks using floppies,CDs,wires and other e-waste. The working e-waste models prepared by Marichika BCA-III won the first while a second prize was shared by Amandeep and Kulwinder Kaur. In the non working category of the models,Simran and Rohini of BCA-III were awarded first prize and Shikha and Shefali BCA-III,won second prize. Nursing school observes breastfeeding week Students of Desh Bhagat Institute of Nursing participated in World Breast Feeding Week organised by Civil Hospital,Fatehgarh Sahib and Community Health Centre,Amloh. The programmes were held under the theme Understanding the Past-Planning the Future and aimed at creating mass awareness regarding the importance of mother's milk for the children. New BEd session starts at Govt College of Education The new session of BEd at the Government College of Education,Sector 20-D,Chandigarh,started on Thursday with Principal Dr Harsh Batra welcoming the students. During the three-day orientation,students will be informed about the details of the scheme of studies,time-table,various aspects of placement cell,crafts,library services,co-curricular activities,skill in teaching,NSS and Red Ribbon Club. They will also be informed about services of Psychology unit and Guidance Lab. The orientation programme,with an aim to acclimatise the fresh entrants to the folds of teaching profession,is going to continue till Saturday. Tech fornight ends at Satluj school Satluj Public School,Panchkula,held the Technology Aided Learning (TAL) Fortnight Competitions in the school,which concluded on Thursday. The event was organised in association with Intel Koshish club to promote technology aided learning amongst students and teachers. The various competitions organised included MS word poster making,paint brush,powerpoint presentation and HTML.
