Ayurvedic and Homeopathic wings in hospitals
Ludhiana:All the seven ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation) Hospitals of the state are going to start alternative system of medicine,Ayurevedic and Homeopathic wings,said Dr Y P Markan,Director ESIC and Director Health,Punjab. “We have already appointed doctors and pharmacists of Ayurveda and this wing will start functioning from January. The selection of staff is also over for the Homeopathic wing and this will also start shortly at all the seven ESIC hospitals,” he added. “Under Ayurveda Wing,there will be ten beds and programmes like Panchkarma will be provided. The seven hospitals where these wings will starts are Ludhiana,Amritsar,Hoshiarpur,Phagwara,Gobindgarh,Jalandhar and Mohali.”
IMA hospitals say no to govt health scheme
AMRITSAR:The Indian Medical Association (IMA) run hospital and nursing homes in the city have declared not to cooperate in the implementation of the government-sponsored Bhai Kanayia Jee health scheme. Chairman of the hospital Dr Rakesh Madaan said the state government had initiated a health and social welfare scheme for the members of cooperative societies since 2008 in the name of Sanjivni Health scheme.The scheme was restructured in 2009. “Due to these numerous changes,we are unable to associate with the scheme. Though the clients were already issued cards with photo and age written on it by the insurance company,they are again asked to bring proof before treatment which led to harassment and in many cases cards were cancelled,” he said.
Man,daughter held for theft
NAWANSHAHR: A domestic help,Pooja,and her father Roop Lal of Mohalla Ravidass Nagar were arrested by police and stolen gold ornaments were also recovered from them. DSP Satpal Singh Bhangu said a merchant,Satpal,had lodged a complaint on Friday that gold jewellery including a gold chain weighing 45 grams,necklace and earrings weighing 5 tolas,four bangles weighing 50 grams and a ring weighing 10 grams,were stolen from the almirah of his house about a month ago. The complainant had suspected that the theft might be committed by his maid servant Pooja and her father Roop Lal,who used to accompany his daughter Pooja to his house. The DSP said about a month ago the daughter -father duo had suddenly stopped coming to work at Satpal’s place. During investigation,police recovered stolen jewellery from their house,said the DSP.
