IGP Upadhyay, 2 UT Inspectors to be honoured for meritorious service

Inspector General of the UT Police, R P Upadhyay, will be receiving the President’s Police Medal on Republic Day. He is already a recipient of the Police Medal for Gallantry in 2006 and the Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 2008.

The IG will be receiving the honour in recognition of his services while in the field of innovations and emphasis on greater professionalism, organisational development, streamlining of office functioning including training and welfare of subordinate staff, and improvement of police community interface, among others.

Inspector Sita Devi will also be awarded with a medal in recognition of her services in the field of computerisation. Sita Devi, a recipient of the Administrator’s Medal for Meritorious Services in 2007 and the Administrator’s Police Medal in 2011, had brought out the coffee table book of the UT Police and other publications.

Inspector Kulbir Kaur, in-charge of the women cell, will also be awarded for her professional competency. She is a recipient of the Administrator’s Police Medal in 2010.

ASI Gurmeet Singh and ASI Manoj Kumar of Panchkula police will be receiving a medal each for meritorious services, along with nine others.
