IT’S been a dream run for Onir post the National Award win for his film,I Am. The director has been extended an official invitation from Cannes to be part of the Festival’s Producers Network. Sanjay Suri and Onir’s film,I Am,recently bagged the National Award for Best Hindi Film. It’s the first of its kind “crowd-sourced” mainstream Hindi film co-produced by over 400 people from 35 cities across the world. It’s a tale of four stories woven together that takes audiences through issues and dilemmas that bruise the modern Indian society. “I am on seventh heaven right now. First the award and now this,it’s overwhelming. It still has to sink in,” said Onir. With three films in production, the director will pitch the projects and discuss the same at length at the Cannes Film Festival’s Producers Network. Both,Onir and Suri will be present there to discuss their projects. “This year Sanjay and I will be producing three films — Chauranga,Coach Kameena and my own directorial venture,Shab. It is exciting that we will have the chance to present the projects there,” added the director.
