Job unaccomplished
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal is on the lookout for a matured,trusted and upright IAS officer to be his principal secretary. During half of his earlier term and even now Bhim Sen undoubtedly fitted to the frame of work. With Sen becoming the Chief Information Commissioner,all eyes are now on his replacement. The choice has narrowed down to two key principal secretary-rank officers,one of them a woman. Both,ironically,seem to be reluctant to take up the job. But one IAS officer,who is actually keen,however,has not been sounded. As a result,the corridors of power are abuzz with all sorts of gossips!
Genuine or fake
Last week,when PCC president Kaul Singh Thakur raised the issue of Gaddis the tribe is not getting rock salt for the goat and sheep it rears since the government has closed the mines in Kangra Industries Minister Krishan Kapoor,a Gaddi himself,contested Thakurs claim. Being a member of the community,I know there is no shortage of rock salt, said Kapoor,but only to be fired back: Ek bhi bhed pali nahin,aur ban gaye bhed palak.
Busy CM
Though being woefully busy with heavy daily business of the Assembly,annual budget and preparing replies for Question Hour,Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumals evenings are packed too. With the wedding season on,he is being seen running from one venue to the other to bless the newlyweds,mostly sons and daughters of important political figures of the state.
