‘Heavily drunk’ driver hits 2 vehicles

A man driving in a rash and negligent manner rammed his SUV into two vehicles and an ice cream vendor before ramming his vehicle into an electricity pole at 10 pm on Wednesday. Bittu from village Budladha was driving his SUV Fortuner (PIM 1) at high speed. He was coming from Labour Chowk and heading towards the Sector 33/ 34 dividing road where he first hit a Luna moped and then a a Maruti. He then almost ran over an ice cream vendor near the dividing road of Sector 33/ 34.

He then banged his vehicle into an electricity pole in Sector 33. Bittu tried to escape but was nabbed by the police. The man driving the moped and Bittu were taken to the hospital and were in an unconscious condition.

The police have taken Bittu in custody. “He was heavily drunk. We have taken him into custody and will take appropriate action as per law” said a police official.
