Source: Pixabay)Over 2.52 lakh candidates will appear for the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Teacher Test (HTET). The examination will be conducted on December 2 and 3 at 856 examination centres across Haryana.
The state government has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth and fair conduct of the examination. Here is all you need to know about the test.
Detailed schedule of HTET on December 2 & 3
On December 2 (Saturday), the Level-3 (Post Graduate Teachers – PGT) examination will be conducted in the evening session from 3 pm to 5.30 pm. As many as 76,339 candidates will appear for the exam at 260 centres.
On December 3 (Sunday), 1,21,574 candidates will appear for the Level-2 (Trained Graduate Teachers – TGT) examination, which will be conducted in the morning session from 10 am to 12.30 pm at 408 examination centres.
For the Level-1 (Primary Teachers – PRT) examination, 54,115 candidates will appear in the evening session from 3 pm to 5.30 pm at 188 examination centres.
Pre-examination protocols
The trunks carrying the sealed question papers will be collected from all district treasury offices and sent directly to the examination centres under the custody of two policemen through a joint team under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner or the administrative officer authorised by him.
Adequate police arrangements shall be made three hours before commencement of the examination to prevent external interference at the centres. Photostat shops around the examination centres will remain closed during the examination. Media’s entry shall be prohibited inside the examination centres.
Security protocols and mandatory formalities
Entry of candidates shall begin 2 hours 10 minutes before the commencement of the examination so that they can freely go through the metal detector frisking, biometric attendance and other mandatory formalities at the examination centre well in time. Entry to the examination centre will be closed one hour before the commencement of the examination.
Arrangement of flying squads
At least 172 flying squads shall be deployed to check cheating and other irregularities. Full-time observers have also been appointed at each examination centre, including an officer of the district administration and an officer/official of the education board, as representatives.
A hi-tech control room is also being set up at the Education Board’s headquarters. During the examination, the Board will maintain a strict vigil through the hi-tech control room at all the examination centres. Live monitoring of candidates will be done at the entrance and a case will be registered against candidates found involved in using unfair means.
Stringent measures to ensure fair and cheating-free HTET
Deputy commissioners shall impose Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) around all centres in their respective districts to prevent gathering to curb cheating.
Inclusive measures for differently-abled candidates
Chief secretary Sanjeev Kaushal Friday reviewed the arrangements of the test with all the deputy commissioners, superintendents of police and officers of Board of School Education Haryana.
For the convenience of blind and disabled candidates, additional 50 minutes at the rate of 20 minutes per hour will be given during the examination. Their OMR sheet will also be sent in a separate envelope by the Centre Superintendent. Separate seating arrangements shall be ensured for such examinees.
