During the ongoing statewide campaign Operation Trackdown, the Haryana Police has arrested 1,514 hardcore and wanted criminals, along with 3,549 other accused.

“In total, 5,063 offenders have been taken into custody, a figure that reflects both the success of the campaign and the readiness of the police to act with coordinated precision. The operation continues with full momentum, ensuring fear among criminals while strengthening law and order across the state,” said DGP O P Singh on Tuesday.

The campaign began as a 16‑day crackdown from November 5 to 21, aimed at habitual offenders, violent criminals, and organised gangs.

Arrests were made under serious charges, including murder, attempt to murder, extortion, robbery, dacoity, snatching, kidnapping, and illegal possession of arms. Owing to the highly impactful results achieved in this period, the campaign was extended for another week, intensifying its reach.

The DGP explained that the Operation Trackdown is not merely about arrests but is driven by intelligence‑based policing, raids on verified leads, and inter‑agency coordination. “A central focus has been the seizure of illegal weapons — pistols, revolvers, cartridges, and magazines — disrupting supply chains that fuel violent crime,” he added.

The scale of the campaign is evident in single‑day results: on November 24 alone, 35 hardcore criminals and 197 other accused were apprehended. Singh noted that such swift, targeted, and aggressive action has already pushed the crime graph downward, with units across the state working in mission mode.

Among the notable breakthroughs, the Nuh Crime Branch arrested a notorious history‑sheeter involved in 36 cases ranging from ATM thefts and truck/dumper thefts to robberies, extortion, and illegal arms possession. Acting on a secret tip‑off, the police caught him near Shikarpur Hills on the Tauru–Salaka Road with a country‑made pistol and live cartridges. His criminal record spans multiple states, including Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. A fresh case under the Arms Act has been registered at Sadar Tauru police station, with further investigation underway.

Another significant arrest was that of Manish, alias Goga (28), a notorious figure from Gurgaon’s Udyog Vihar. With 20 serious cases against him — including murder, attempted murder, extortion, kidnapping, gang activities, robbery, and Arms Act violations — his capture is expected to deal a heavy blow to active criminal networks in the region.
