Seven goals by Harpal Singh guided ONGC to a narrow 11-10 win over BPCL to move into the final of the Eighth Olympian Dharam Singh Memorial Six-a-Side Hockey Tournament played at Sector 18 hockey ground on Friday.
It was a goal spree for both the teams as the forwards of ONGC and BPCL went into an attacking mode right from the start of the match. If it was Karamjeet,who scored eight goals for BPCL,Harpal Singh scored six goals for ONGC to guide his team into the final of the tournament. Arun was the other mains corer for ONGC as he scored four goals,while Jagwant scored one goal. For the losing side,Irshad Ali and Prabhdeep scored one goal each.
In the other semi-final encounter of the tournament played on Friday,Rock Rovers Academy ended the challenge of Namdhari XI with a 10-7 win. Davinder Kumar was the hero of the day for the winning team as he scored five goals.
Deepak Thakur scored two goals while Gurdeep junior,Gaurav Tokhi and Sukhmeet Sodhi scored one goal each for the winning team. For the losing side,Gurmil scored four goals while Malik netted three goals.
