Groom ditches bride,girl goes to cops

Nargis a resident of Basti Bhattian wali of Ferozepur dressed in bridal attire kept on waiting for the groom,who never turned up. According to information available,marriage of Nargis and one Kishan Singh resident of Shanti Nagar was to be solemnised on Wednesday but the groom and his family did not come for the wedding. Finally,the girls family found the boys house locked.

Nargis has filed a police complaint of cheating and sexual harassment as well.

Both knew each other for five years. Nargis was a student of Kishan Singh and they fell in love with each other,as per the claims of Nargis. Roka ceremony of the family was held a few days ago.

The girl belonged to a scheduled caste family,while the boy was from Arora Khatri family.

The girl stated that the boys family never expressed any objection over caste earlier and they were left shocked when the groom and his party did not turn up. The girl alleged that the boy allured her to marry him over the past five years and kept on meeting her.

Meanwhile,the police have started an inquiry into it. SHO Ferozepur City Jaswant Singh said they have received the complaint.

The entire family had come to get the complaint lodged. Our team is making investigations in this case. So far we have not registered an FIR. Due action will be taken after completing all investigations, he said.
