GMADA to start physical survey for need-based policy this month

The last date for sending suggestions to GMADA was December 31 last year but the authority decided to wait for some more time for taking the final call on the implementation of the policy. GMADA had proposed to implement the policy, which will benefit around 16,000 people in Mohali, last month. Now the areas in Phase XI, Phase X, Sector 70, Phase IX, Phase I, Phase VI and Phase II will be physically verified by the GMADA team to ascertain the ground situation.
“Need-based policy is much-awaited as many people have made constructions in their houses. Now they all want to be covered under the scheme but it is not possible. We need physical verification of all such constructions and the verification work will be started within three-four days. After the physical verification, we will prepare a report and send it to the higher authorities,” said a GMADA officer.

GMADA senior architect Satinder Singh said that they had called a meeting of officials regarding the implementation of the policy, and the physical verification would be started this month.

Public grievances
The GMADA chief administrator has appointed Director (Projects) S S Dhindsa as the nodal officer for public grievances. The residents can either call the officer on 0172-2213555 or send emails regarding their complaints at pd@gmada.gov.in.
