The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) is set to launch a housing scheme offering 315 flats of various sizes on ‘first come, first serve’ basis for the first time. The scheme is likely to be launched next week. Applicants can buy the flats without much paper work and by clicking the options that will be made available by GMADA on its website.
The new scheme is part of the Purab Premium Apartment scheme – the first housing scheme of GMADA that was launched around three years ago. GMADA decided to launch the second part of the scheme on the ‘first come, first serve’ basis on an experimental basis. GMADA will also give the possession of the flats to the applicants till April 2016.

GMADA Estate Officer (EO) Mahesh Bansal said scheme was likely to be launched on Friday or next week.
He added that a total of 315 flats would be put for sale under the scheme.
Bansal said those interested in buying the flats could log on to the website and flats will be sold as per the terms and conditions mentioned.
Bansal pointed out that earlier GMADA used to hold draw of lots for its schemes but after the new scheme is launched, applicants could buy flats by just logging on and following the instructions on the GMADA website.
GMADA will start an awareness drive on the scheme prior to the launch. Bansal said the scheme would be open to residents of other states also but added that those from other states could not apply under the reserved category, which is exclusively for residents of Punjab.
“It is an extension of the Purab Premium Apartment scheme. Under that scheme, we had to construct 1,600 flats. We have allotted 1,200 flats after draw of lots and we decided to put up for sale 315 flats that were also constructed along with the other flats under the new scheme,” said Bansal.
