Promising justice to fellow Congressmen booked in false cases by the ruling SAD-BJP regime,Punjab Congress President Capt Amarinder Singh today said this did not amount to vendetta politics.
Addressing a big political rally at the local grain market here today, the former CM said he would seek revenge for each case slapped on fellow Congressmen and get the guilty to book, once back in power in the state.
Amidst a thunderous applause from the crowd,Capt Singh said victimisation of thousands of Congress workers across the state could not be forgotten and forgiven and he would take revenge for all atrocities committed on fellow Congressmen by the current regime.
The big turnout at the rally also saw different groups of Congressmen should slogans for their respective leaders, while trying to score a point over the others. The speakers had to appeal to the crowds many a time to pacify them,as the former CM described this enthusiasm as one which heralded a change in the state with Congress back in power.
The PCC President regretted that this government did not do anything except loot and rob the state, besides committing atrocities and victimising political opponents. They have grabbed everything from sand, land, transport, cable and even dhabas.
Expressing concern with the directionless youth of the state,Capt Singh said of the total 2.44 crore people, the SAD-BJP regime has never thought about the 44 lakh unemployed youth of the state and did nothing to create jobs for them.
The Badals have not thought about their responsibilities towards the state and its people and have not cared to provide improved health, education and other facilities. They have only filled their coffers and befooled the people of the state with false promises. They have also finished Punjab’s economy and the state’s industry has flown to neighbouring states.”
The PCC chief called for an urgent need to rethink on the policies for agriculture and industry. A second Green Revolution is much-needed and we need to identify new crops which could benefit the farmers more, he said.
