Bella Vista’s newly opened food court combines casual dining and entertainment

It’s not everyday that a luxury hotel that primarily has fine dining decides to shed its snootiness to incorporate a casual food court in the lawns. But the newly-opened Bella Vista in Panchkula’s Sector 5 has just done that. Named “The Garden”,the area in the front lawn, that officially opened this weekend,is dotted with little carts offering multiple cuisines. With the cascading waterfalls of the hotel in the backdrop and fountains and an amphitheatre in the foreground, one can saunter in and relax on the patio furniture and tuck into quick bites. “The Garden is a fun venue, where one can meet up with friends, relax with the family and dig into Indian and Chinese,” says Jaskirat Singh Nagra, vice president,Bella Vista.

While the area will remain open from 4 pm to 10 pm on weekdays, the timing on the weekends is 11am to 11pm. “Given the perfect weather for outdoor dining,we wanted to create a buzz and let everyone know that we are now operational,” says Nagra. The menu includes wraps, sandwiches, pizza and a rotisserie,at reasonable prices. While the non-vegetarian Indian thali combo costs Rs 200 and packs in veggies, dal, rice and chicken or mutton, the wraps and sandwiches are priced Rs 100 onwards. What is truly worth a bite is the chicken rotisserie. We tried half a plate, priced Rs 150. The chicken pieces were teamed with bread, two dips and a serving of potatoes. It was comfort food at its best.

“The concept is on the lines of chowpatty in Mumbai or a maidan in Kolkata. It combines casual dining and entertainment,” adds Nagra. Cultural and musical performances will also be organised during the weekends. So if you plan to laze and enjoy coffee and a wholesome sandwich, while the kids run around in the greens,a trip to The Garden is worth it.
