Fresh bids have been invited for the Rs 20-crore project to design,set up and operate the states first Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS),for providing emergency ambulance service in the state. The health department has invited those societies,companies or trusts that have already operated such a service in the country with a fleet of at least 40 emergency ambulances. They should also have a communication network connected with telephone as an integrated component of the emergency response system. The scheme will be funded by the government to provide free of cost service in rural and urban areas of the state.
