Four drug peddlers arrested; 1 kg heroin, ` 1-lakh cash seized
The SSP further said that on July 30, Ropar police stopped a Toyota Fortuner and four persons Sohan Lal, Baljit Singh, Veer Singh alias Veeru, and a woman Poonam alias Mona, who is the wife of Gaurav were arrested.

Ropar police on Sunday arrested four alleged interstate drug peddlers including one woman and recovered one kilogram heroin, 143 grams of gold ornaments, Rs 1 lakh drug money, and an SUV.
Ropar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vivek Sheel Soni said on June 22, a police team of CIA staff had recovered 300 grams of heroin from accused Gaurav Kumar alias Happy alias Billa.
The SSP added that during the interrogation of Gaurav, names of his accomplices Sandeep Singh, a resident of Nalagarh (Himachal Pradesh), and Sukhpreet Singh came to fore as co-accused of the case. Sukhpreet was arrested on June 25.
Soni further stated that acting on the information received from Sandeep, the other accused were also arrested. The SSP further said that on July 30, Ropar police stopped a Toyota Fortuner and four persons Sohan Lal, Baljit Singh, Veer Singh alias Veeru, and a woman Poonam alias Mona, who is the wife of Gaurav were arrested.
As many as eight cases have already been registered against the main smuggler Sohan Lal at Sadar Banga Police Station, and he was also wanted in the recovery of 520 grams of heroin in Hoshiarpur, Soni said.
“With the arrest of these drug peddlers, police have achieved in breaking the chain of a wide drug network,” the SSP added.
