In yet another thanksgiving rally in Khanna, former Finance Minister of Punjab,Manpreet Singh Badal, promised to make the state debt-free even if he had to starve or live in tattered clothes. He asked the masses to rise up,and with their ‘support’ he will make all efforts to make Punjab richer in the years to come. However,he did not announce any plans for the state elections. Manpreet said,“Debt-free Punjab will a better place to live for our generations to come.”

More than 4,000 persons had come to listen to Manpreet on the occasion. Manpreet said,“I have all hopes that the masses will walk with me because I know Punjabis can’t tolerate injustice.”

“The system is not allowing the state to prosper and a slur of debt is on the face of the state which is a matter of shame. Punjab used to be the top ranking state of the country. So right thinking people need to walk together. Even a single person can stand tall with truth. It is not in my nature to say ‘yes boss’ everywhere. So,it was my compulsion to walk away from SAD(B),because it was a question of my self respect.”
