Actor Harman Baweja on why he is through with his past

Actor Harman Baweja prefers not to discuss his past — from the time he was dating Priyanka Chopra to the days of fighting a Hrithik Roshan look-alike tag and living through box-office disasters like Love Story 2050 and What’s Your Rashee. “I’d prefer it if you don’t steer the conversation to that part of my life. Can we just leave it at that?,” says the actor, who was in the city to walk the ramp for designer Rina Dhaka at the Blender’s Pride Chandigarh Fashion Week, which concluded last weekend.

His long absence from the screen has been rather obvious, but when we ask him where he has been post the failure of the Ashutosh Gowariker directed What’s Your…,he states,”Failure and success are part of being in the industry. I have been busy working on a film with my father (Harry Baweja).” In the meantime, the actor is also looking forward to a romantic comedy by Anees Bazmi titled It’s My Life, which he hopes will revive his career in Bollywood.

It’s only when we prod him on fashion, that Baweja settles down and is really at ease. He talks of his rather bland choice of blue denims and white tee at length. “Guys can’t experiment much, but if you really want to shop, then Europe is the coolest destination,” he says, mentioning that his favourite brand is Diesel. “There is nothing shallow or superficial about fashion — it’s a career just like any other. If you are passionate,it puts you on a high. It has got depth and meaning,” he signs off.
