To appease regional palates,Emirates rolls out a unique Journey Through India food campaign
When it comes to travel, most of us like to travel on a full belly since we are a tad unsure of whats coming our way. But heres a reason to make the most of your next flight. In aim to reach out to the Indian traveller, airline major Emirates has rolled out a unique Journey Through India campaign. For starters they are bringing in the trolleys laden with Indian cuisine. Food is an integral part of any journey and it can make the difference to the overall experience. Minor enhancements create a comfort zone, which allows one to relate to ones environment, remarks Emirates Vice President for India and Nepal,Orhan Abbas as he goes on to add,The in-flight menu on all routes and in all classes has been changed to meet the regional preferences of Indian travellers.
So,if you are on an Emirates flight out of New Delhi, you can now merrily tuck into a Masala Anda Roll,Mutter paneer bhurji or even Amritsari chole! While designing a menu, the focus was to provide regionalized food on board instead of having a singular menu for India, explains Abbas. To reach out to the diverse community, the menu has been further categorized into north, south, east and west. Its all to give it a more provincial feel and the dishes are based on research in response to the profile of passengers travelling from that particular state, the Vice President assures.
Which explains why the menus boast of regional delicacies like Rara Gosht,Murg Tikka Masala,Achari paneer,Mamsa ishtew,Chettinad vegetables,Baghara Baingan,Mini Wada Sambhar,Masala Dosa and more. Conscious of the vegetarian preferences with many travellers,we have strengthened the lineup there as well, Abbas adds. What more,in all classes – business or first – route-specific mini savouries prior to meal service and after-meal Indian digestives have been introduced. To offer a wholesome appeal, even desserts have been altered to suit Indian flavours, Abbas adds. So in come Gajar ka Halwa,Malpua and even Semiya payassam! Gourmet travel anyone?
