Fake Instagram ID case: Woman doctor booked under IT Act
Following investigation, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the IT Act against Dr Gagandeep Kaur.

A case of cyber harassment has come to light after a young woman from Khumbra village lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police. The complainant alleged that a fake Instagram ID was created in her name, where her photograph along with that of a friend was uploaded, and her brother was deliberately tagged.
According to the complaint, the woman said, “When my brother informed me about the tagged post, I came to know about the fake account. I suspect Dr Gagandeep Kaur, Pinky, and Simrat either individually or collectively may have been involved.”
Following the investigation, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the IT Act against Dr Gagandeep Kaur. The complainant said that in 2019, she had worked at a dental clinic in Phase-10, where Dr Kaur was a junior doctor and Pinky was an assistant. During that time, she had shared some personal photographs with them. She now suspects that those images were misused in an attempt to malign her reputation among her relatives.
Cyber crime police officials confirmed, “An FIR has been lodged against Dr Gagandeep Kaur under the IT Act, and further investigation is underway.”
