‘Dull House without full House’

He urged the Speaker to intervene and talk to the Congress. The CM said the Opposition has made an issue out of nothing.

The issue was raised by Transport Minster Master Mohan Lal. He said,“Let’s call back the Opposition and resolve the deadlock. Out of 22 questions raised in the Assembly today,12 have gone unanswered.”

Outside the floor of the House,Sukhpal Singh Khaira told newspersons,“I have no ego hassles on the issue. We have made our point loud and clear and have been amply heard. If the assurance from the Speaker is encouraging,I will not even insist for an apology.”

Leader of Opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has also been contacted for the purpose.

Recession:With no opposition and thin attendance of ruling party legislators,it was a rather dull day during the Punjab Assembly budget session on Friday.
All praises:The absence of any debate saw legislators of both the Akali Dal and its ally,the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),speaking at length on their government’s accomplishments.
Thin attendance:Clad in formal pants,Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal sat in apt attention throughout the session,accompanied by just a few Cabinet colleagues and 20 to 25 MLAs of the ruling alliance.
Badal vs Capt:The younger CM with a taut moustache worked from 11 to 5,while the older one works from five in the morning to 11 at night,said a ruling party MLA,while comparing Badal and Amarinder.
Better share in water:BJP MLA Harish Rai Dhanda raised the demand for a better share for Punjab in distribution of river waters. Punjab is at a disadvantage in riparian laws and should be given a fair deal,he said.
Cong boycott:“People sent you here to raise their issues. Have you forgotten the atrocities committed on us during your rule?” said Akali MLA Sarabjit Singh Makkar.
Urban mess:Accusing the former government of creating a urban mess in Punjab’s cities and towns,BJP MLA Jagdish Sahni said huge multiplexes have come up without parking space for even scooters. The previous government sanctioned realty projects without the requisite infrastructure and no concern for planned development,he added.
