While most of us have eaten ananas,for a gardener it is the ornamentation of the plant that is of value. Look at the accompanying picture. The ornamental form is of a hardy kind that grows easily in this region. It makes for an excellent potted plant. After a few years,the central shoot emerges with deep pink ananas growing from it. Its easy to multiply this plant and it can be grown in water too. A tuft of leaves with a base can easily take root when kept in water.
The vegetable plants in my home garden are cutting near the ground level. What could be the reason and how can I prevent this?

It is the handiwork of the beetle grub. Drench the soil near the base of the plants with chlorpyriphos.
What is the method of multiplying asparagus? When is the best time to do so?

The asparagus has small bulb-like structures at its base. Take out the plant from the pot and divide it this can be done easily.
What is the correct time to add fertilizer to mango? Can I do it now? If so,how much do I add? My tree is five years old.

Fertilizer and manure is added to mango during the winter months. A part of nitrogenous and potash fertilizer is added later.

My football lily flower is now dead. Will the plant bear another flower? It has started sprouting leaves now. I had planted it in May this year.

No,the plant will not bear flowers now. However,the leaves are also ornamental and the plant can be used to provide shade as well.
