Double whammy for Alpine School in cricket

PANCHKULA: Buoyed by Amit Dalal’s effective bowling performance (3 for 10), Alpine School,Bhawana,beat Holy Child School by 42 runs in the final of the 4th Alpine Cup (T-10) Cricket Tournament for Under-13 played at Alpine School ground in Panchkula on Monday. Holy Child won the toss and elected to field first. Alpine School scored 104 runs while Holy Child managed to score only 62 runs in 10 overs. For Alpine School,Ravi Raj scored 32 and Hemant contributed 11 runs. From Holy Child side,Rahul scored 20 runs while Deepanshu chipped in with 10 runs. Amit Dalal bowled well to bag three wickets for 10 runs for Alpine. St. Teresa School Panchkula bagged the third position.

In the final of U-15 category,Alpine School,Bhawana,beat Vivek International School,Baddi,by 19 runs. Vivek International School won the toss and elected to field first. Alpine School set the target of 94 runs. Shubham Ekka scored 30 runs. Vivek International School were restricted to 74 runs as Alpine School won by 19 runs. Holy Child School of Panchkula finished third. Shubham Ekka of Alpine School was declared the best batsman of the tournament,while Ravi Raj was awarded with the best bowler’s prize of the tournament.

Speed skating carnival on May 26,27

PANCHKULA: Manav Mangal School,Sector 11,Panchkula,will conduct Manav Mangal Open Speed Skating Carnival- 2012 on May 26 and 27. Interested skaters from the Tricity for the age groups (Under-4 years to Above-16 years) can participate in various levels of Rink Races and Road Races during the carnival.
