Charanjit Singh Channi said even the medical expenses of members of the House were delayed due to the condition of attaching supportive documents.

He said,“The money fixed for a member for use of his vehicle and bills of telephone and medical expenses must be given each month without waiting for submitting the original document in support of their claims.”

MLAs said there should be no ifs and buts on medical bills by the health department once they are cleared by the Vidhan Sabha.

The issue also found the Speaker’s support.

The Finance Minister, however, said during zero hour,“The issue is not of any urgent importance that it is taken up in the zero hour. There are rules made and we can sit and discuss.”

Jagdish Sahni of the BJP urged the Speaker that the compulsory submission of original bills must be done away with.
