A day after the new District Administrative Complex (DAC) was inaugurated, the stamp vendors and notary officers complained that they were not given any space to start their business.
Some others also went to new DAC building for their works, but many offices are yet to be shifted, as the numbers are not yet allotted by the administration.
Sarbjeet Singh, a notary officer, said: “When the new DAC was constructed, we were told that a space would be given to us. But now no space is earmarked in the area where we can start our work. We will meet Deputy Commissioner D S Mangat over the issue and ask him to allot us space.”
He added: “It is impossible to work from here, as the new DAC is very far. We want our vends to be shifted there. Without proper space, we cannot work there. We came to know there is no space outside the DAC and we will not be allowed to sit inside. We are in dilemma that where we will work. Most of the offices would be shifted in the new building from Monday,” rued Singh.
Meanwhile, some people who came for their routine works, went to the new DAC building in Sector 76, while the offices were not shifted there. Then they had to go to Phase I to the old DAC.
