Over 9,000 forms for admission to nearly 11,000 seats in class XI in city government schools were sold on the first day of sale of forms here today. While the forms can also be downloaded from the website of the UT Education Department,students preferred to rush to the six centres set up by the Department for sale of forms. The last date for submission of forms is June 20.
The allocation of seats will begin after June 20,via a centralised online system of counselling and the merit list with details of allocation of seats in all the 37 senior secondary schools will be available on the website chdeducation.gov.in by June 30.
The forms were available from 9 am to 1 pm at the government model senior secondary schools in Sectors 10,19,21,40,46 and Manimajra after paying Rs120 in cash.
The number of preferences of schools allowed to students this year is 17. The allocation of seats will consider both the preference as well as merit of the students. The students can choose 15 model schools and two non-model schools. The common merit list will be displayed at the respective schools on June 27 and students will have to deposit the fees by July 2. Classes will begin on July 5.
In case a students wishes to change the school,he or she can submit the form from July 16 to 18 or August 13 to 14 between 9 am and 1 pm. All other details related to courses and subjects are available with the schools. The admission schedule and procedure are available in the prospectus.
