Daring daylight armed robbery in Manimajra

Three unidentified armed men allegedly stole Rs 4.39 lakh from a city resident in a broad daylight robbery.

Three unidentified armed men allegedly stole Rs 4.39 lakh from a city resident in a broad daylight robbery. Police said that a search has been launched to nab the three accused who fled in a white Zen car.

Deputy Superintendent of Police,East J S Khaira said,“We are conducting raids to arrest the three accused in the robbery.”

Police said the incident took place around 12.10 pm when Amit Kumar a resident of Mohalla Thakur Duara,Manimajra and an employee at the BSNL franchisee in Manimajra were on their way to deposit Rs. 4.39 lakh at Punjab National Bank in the same locality.

SHO of Manimajra police station,Inspector Rajesh Shukla said,“When Amit was near the wine shop,in front of Fun Republic,a Zen car stopped and three young armed robbers with their faces covered came out and forcibly snatched the bag containing the money.”

The police have registered a case under section 397 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code in Manimajra police station.
