IN yet another time leap Zee TV’s Aap Ki Antara will jump about ten years and Antara will now be a grown up girl of 21 years played by Anjum Farooki. While Mansi Parekh was approached first,but due to date problem,the part went to Anjum. Meanwhile,Prabhleen Sandhu,who is currently essaying the character of 12-year-old Antara’s mother ‘Vidya’ on the show,has opted out. Sandhu is reportedly against the idea of playing a mature woman with graying hair at this stage of her career. “Playing such a role will typecast me,” says Prabhleen. According to her,the character after the leap calls for a more mature woman. And after considering Neena Gupta,Mona Ambegaonkar and Shilpa Tulaskar,the role goes to Kshiti Jog of Ghar Ki Lakshmi: Betiyaan fame. Finally,what will happen to Aditya? With a steady stream of fan mail pouring in at Zee TV requesting the channel to keep Darshan Pandya who plays Aditya,the cancer-stricken father of Antara alive,the channel has been toying with the idea of giving into popular demand and extending his presence on the show by delaying his death. Unfortunately,Aditya’s track might end within less than a week of the time leap. But there’s a twist here – Darshan Pandya will continue to be a part of the show. How? A show insider leaks,“Aap Ki Antara is about to leap ahead by a good 10 years. After the time leap,12 year old Antara will be 21 years. We leave it up to you to guess which character on the show Darshan Pandya will play after Aditya dies.” Hmmm,the son?
