A local court has dismissed an application moved by Babbar Khalsa terrorist Paramjit Singh Bheora who had demanded to be heard through videoconferencing. Bheora, who stands convicted for life for involvement in the assassination of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, was produced before the court amid high security on Thursday,in connection with the Burail jailbreak case.

Bheora, who is lodged in Tihar Jail at present, told the the court that the Delhi Police kept him in a cabin and tied him with chains. He pleaded that the height of the cabin was very low.

The UT Administration filed its reply on the application filed by Bheora’s advocate Arvind Thakur. As demanded by Bheora, the Administration has assured that religious sentiments of Bheora will not be hurt.

The court, meanwhile, started the proceedings to declare Narayan Singh Chaura, the alleged main conspirator in the case,a proclaimed offender.

It also issued production warrants of Jagtar Singh Hawara, convicted for life for assassinating Beant Singh, for the next hearing. Bheora and Hawara were shifted from the Burail Jail in Chandigarh to Tihar Jail in New Delhi for the hearings in the 2004 bomb blasts case.

Hawara,a Babbar Khalsa International terrorist, and his associates Jagtar Singh Tara and Bheora, all three accused in the Beant Singh assassination case, escaped after digging a tunnel in the jail in 2004.
