Cop,woman booked after scuffle

A Mohali policeman and a Chandigarh-based woman entered into a scuffle in Phase VI on Tuesday,following which both were booked in a cross case registered against each other. According to information,Mohali Police Control Room in-charge ASI Ram Darshan and a Sector 41 resident Aruna Kumari had a long-pending dispute over which an inquiry was already underway. On Tuesday,Aruna’s friend Babita called the Darshan to an SCO in Phase VI to bury the hatchet. In the process they exchanged heated arguments,which later took an ugly turn. While Darshan accused Aruna of causing hurt and criminal intimidation,Aruna alleged the cop tried to intimidate her. The police have arrested Aruna,who is in her early 30s,under Sections 353,186 and 506 of the IPC while Darshan was booked under Sections 506 and 323 of the IPC,Phase I SHO Inspector Harbir Singh Atwal said.
