Cop accuses DSP of abusing him,later denies

Alleging that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) (crime) Satbir Singh had verbally abused him in the presence of two police officials,Inspector Jasvir Singh,posted in the Cyber Crime cell of the UT police,on Monday submitted a written complaint to Inspector General of Police R P Upadhyaya.

The issue came up during a meeting with the UT police officials. Sources in the UT police said that the IGP had warned some of the Deputy Superintendents of Police,who are facing resentment from inspectors and sub-inspectors.

“He has mentioned in the complaint that two other inspectors,one posted in the cyber crime and another in the crime branch,were also present when the incident took place. Jasvir Singh has mentioned in his complaint that DSP Satbir Singh abused him to the extent that he went into depression,” said a source.

Taking note of the same,an inquiry was marked to the Deputy Inspector General of Police Alok Kumar.

However,Jasvir Singh said,“I have not made any such complaint. It must be a mistake”.

When contacted,DSP Satbir Singh told Chandigarh Newsline said,“The complaint against me is just a rumour”.

However,a senior police officer of the Chandigarh Police said confirmed the same without disclosing the contents of the complaint.
