The much-anticipated public hearing on the expansion of Mohali Municipal Corporation limits lasted for more than 2 hours on Thursday, with more than 150 residents objecting to the move.

Additional Chief Secretary, Local Government Department, Tejveer Singh and Mohali Municipal Commissioner Parminderpal Singh Sandhu heard residents’ objections. However, several participants alleged that the process was not conducted properly.

Speaking to the Indian Express, Tejveer Singh confirmed that around 150 people attended the hearing and presented their objections over a two-hour session. “All objections have been duly recorded and will now be forwarded to the government for further action. Keeping the official deadline in mind, the process will be completed within a week, after which the final notification may be issued.”
