(Representational photo) In a bid to bolster air connectivity of the state, two new flight routes connecting Kullu and Shimla with the bustling Amritsar International Airport are set to become operational in the coming weeks, announced Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. These new routes are poised to significantly enhance travel options for residents and tourists alike.
Starting from October 1, travelers can expect the launch of flights on the Kullu-Amritsar-Kullu route. These flights are scheduled to operate thrice a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, offering a convenient and efficient way to traverse these picturesque locales. Meanwhile, the Shimla-Amritsar-Shimla route is slated to kickstart its operations from November 1, while operating three times a week.
To facilitate planning, Alliance Air has already initiated ticket bookings for the Kullu-Amritsar-Kullu route, simplifying the journey planning process for travelers. The Kullu-Amritsar flight is scheduled to take off at 8:25 AM from Kullu, arriving in Amritsar at 09:30 AM. The return flight from Amritsar will depart at 10:00 AM, landing back in Kullu at 11:05 AM.
What’s particularly noteworthy is that 50 percent of the seats on the Kullu-Amritsar-Kullu route will be subsidised, with airfares set at Rs. 2637 for the Kullu to Amritsar sector and Rs. 3284 for the Amritsar to Kullu sector. This strategic pricing approach aims to make air travel more affordable and accessible to a wider audience.
