Painting is not just a passion,but a talent possessed by the Kanav sisters,Advika,10,and Arista,7. Students of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School,Sector 26,the two are all set to display their artwork at the Government Museum and Art Gallery. Comprising over 60 paintings of Advika,and 15 by Arista,the exhibition has been organised by Chaya Art. While the mediums range from wax crayons to pencil shavings,glass markers and pencil glass markers,the sisters state that the underlying message of the artwork is,protecting the wild and saving the environment. So the issues depicted range from environmental protection to poverty,child labour,peace,non-violence,brotherhood and messages of healthy living,including abstinence from junk food. Portraits of Mahatma Gandhi,Dr Salim Ali,Mother Teresa and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose also feature in the exhibition.
