College principals meet PU V-C

Principals of various private colleges affiliated to Panjab University met Vice-Chancellor Prof R C Sobti on Monday pertaining to the issue of appointment of Dean College Development Council (DCDC). Representing the association,around 15 principals visited the V-C’s office in the morning to apprise him about the problems faced by the colleges.

They were given assurances by the V-C that after the appointment of Prof Naval Kishore as DCDC,the issues of colleges will be taken care of and the working would not be hampered. Newly appointed Registrar,Prof A K Bhandari,and DCDC,Prof Naval Kishore,were also present at the meeting. The principals also asked the V-C to allocate the office of DCDC to Prof Kishore who has been allocated the office of DPR for the time being. To this the V-C assured that he would be given an office in the V-C’s office building only to which the principals protested that the original office of DCDC in the academic block should be given to him as it is easily accessible to them. The V-C also suggested the principals to hold a principals’ conference during this week to address all the issues. To this,the principals said that they would be soon deciding on the date and holding the conference inviting all principals of affiliated colleges.
