If you are in search of information pertaining to cases pending in any of the courts from lower to higher or Supreme Court in the country,all you need to do is log on to http://www.highcourtchd.gov.in. Click on the newly added feature National Data Grid,and you can access status and judgment of any case pending in any of the district courts or High Courts in the country.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has become the first High Court in the country to have linked its official website to the national pool of judicial cases. With this feature,a litigant or a lawyer can not only access information of cases pending in district courts of Punjab and Haryana but also of other states.

Not only this,one can also keep tabs on the cause list and status of a case by logging on to the official website (www.highcourtchd.gov.in) of Punjab and Haryana High Court. Also,the High Court has added links to all the district court websites of Punjab and Haryana.

This has been done as per a national programme initiated by the Supreme Court. The E-committee of the apex court had decided to link all the courts in the country by way of National Data Grid which acts as a server for all the cases.

As of now,all fresh cases and their judgments will be posted on this server which can be retrieved and accessed from the High Court website. Sources told Chandigarh Newsline that within a

few months,old judgments would also be scanned/compiled and uploaded on the national server.

Another unique feature added by the High Court is that of latest/important judgments. Any important judgment by any of the Punjab and Haryana High Court judges will be immediately uploaded under the said tab. Rather than going through the entire roster of judges,one could find an important judgment by simply clicking on this tab.

The concerned court secretary will be given liberty to add a keyword to a significant judgment. The moment a visitor clicks on the keyword,the judgment will open without delay. We have uploaded details of cases pending in Punjab and Haryana and are in the process of uploading information of cases pending in other courts, said a senior HC official.
