Revival of science
Experts feel with students now opting for Science as their first preference the trend has changed. Earlier, they would prefer Commerce over Science, but now there seems to be a revival of science.
Talking to Newsline,District Education Officer Kushwinder Sharma said: Yes,there was a trend in previous years where most students preferred Commerce, but that seems to be changing. With recession and the resulting job crunch, parents want children to opt for a stream that gives them a secure future. And even children have started thinking in a similar manner now.
Clogged roads
All roads leading to GMSSS-10 were jammed since early morning. The reason: cars were not allowed inside the school which forced parents to park them outside, thereby blocking roads .
Though everything inside the school related to admission counselling went off smoothly, the scene outside was that of utter chaos.
Seeing the situation, the UT Education department has appealed to all parents to come without cars if possible.
For parents convenience,air-coolers,drinking water facility and refreshments have been arranged at the admission venue
