City briefs: Admin to respond to plea on Excise Policy by Aug 22

An amended petition was filed by a petitioner who challenged the Excise Policy for the year 2013-14 in the Punjab and Haryana HC. The Administration was asked to respond to the petition by August 22.

The petitioner,against the hike in the earnest money,challenged the amendments made by the Administration in the Excise Policy.

Singla appointed Chief Engineer

AR Singla was appointed as Chief Engineer,Chandigarh Housing Board on Wednesday. He was serving in Public Health Department,Haryana. He has earlier been the Superintending Engineer (Public Health) in Chandigarh.
