Chandigarhs Rawat rallies into final

Riding high on a superb serve,Nihit Rawat of Chandigarh stormed into the final in the U-12 boys' category with a 3-6,7-6(2),7-6(4) win over Chinmay of Delhi on the penultimate day of the PAU AITA Total Tennis Talent Series being played at PAU courts at Ludhiana.

In the second semi-final in the same category,Tegbir Singh Hara of Punjab rallied to a (2-6,6-3,7-6(5) win over Karandeep Singh of Punjab.

In the U-14 semi-final stage,Jagbir Singh of Punjab ended the challenge of Hardeep Sandhu of Punjab with a 3-6,6-4,6-2 win. In the girls’ U-12 semi-final,it was curtains for Chandigarh’s Karishma Mehta as she lost to Pooja Maurya of Punjab 6-7 (8),0-6.

In another semi-final encounter in the same category,Shreya Kalia of Himachal Pradesh rallied to a 6-3,6-4 win over Soumya Saxena of Chandigarh to advance into the final. In the U-14 category,Rajvir Kaur of Punjab ended the challenge of Varnika Thakur of Punjab with an emphatic 6-1,6-0 win. In another semi-final,Charvi Saxena of Chandigarh ended the challenge of Arshpreet Kaur of Punjab with a 7-6 (3),6-0 win.
