Chandigarh Home Secretary Nitin Yadav has been transferred to New Delhi on central deputation as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce.

Orders issued by the Government of India Thursday evening read, “Nitin Yadav is appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a combined tenure of seven
years up to 12.9.2028 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”

Home Secretary Nitin Yadav, a 2000-batch IAS officer from the Haryana cadre was to complete his three-year deputation period in Chandigarh in September.

Yadav was posted to Chandigarh from Haryana as Home Secretary in September 2021.

For a short stint, he also held the additional charge of UT Adviser when the previous Adviser took voluntary retirement.
